GREAT AUNT TRIX
As a child I knew summer had begun when my Great Aunt Trix’s ancient upholstered swinging sofa was put up in the garden.

We loved it like an old friend. Fortunately for me and not my brother, I inherited it. So history repeated itself and my family grew up ‘rocking’.

Realizing that it was impossible to buy a similar swinging sofa and having three children, who all assumed they would be the one to inherit the original, we decided to start a company, whose first product would be an updated version, squarely based on my inheritance.

Robin, father, sailor, ever practical, who manages to get things done - oh! and husband - concentrated on the folding stainless steel frame and all the other bits that you can’t see.

He also had to source a special canvas that had all the modern qualities of water and rot resistancy but still retained a lived-in faded look. I designed hopsack, velvet and woven wool fabrics in washed florals, stripes and plaids that complemented our canvas colours and would go ‘In and out of the garden’.

We’ve designed some other garden furniture, both contemporary and nostalgic, all of which go very well with the ‘Old Rocker’. And, with a range of fabrics, clothes and bags were just waiting to be created.

A few Oddities crept in, but the latest addition to the collection seems to be three donkeys, Mungo, Soldier and Mary... its an Odd life!
